What are you choosing?

Are you a passenger to your dog’s naughty choices or are you a driver to their success? A victim to your dog’s mistakes or a leader to their victories? Doing nothing and allowing dogs to chose barking, lunging, resource guarding, over excitement, jumping, counter surfing, etc. is a choice and you can just as easily chose to lead by correcting barking and lunging, not allowing over excitement, addressing jumping and counter surfing, not giving opportunities for resource guarding, etc. Troubled dogs are not simply ‘bad dogs’ ... they are dogs without leadership, boundaries, rules, structure and accountability. All the important stuff that we handlers are responsible for giving our dogs.
